NY August 18, 2004 -- The Goliath of Internet auction websites has a new David – a competitor who wants to buy up the buyer market. While thousands of auction websites have tried to compete with the market leader, BidCents.com has an interesting concept.

Most “wannabe” auction sites focus on attracting sellers, usually with lower fees. But sellers really want buyers most of all. So BidCents.com has devised a way to attract and keep buyers, with the knowledge that sellers will follow.

Firstly, all new members are given cash for joining. That money can be used to help buy any item on sale. Then, when they buy something, buyers are given a generous cash rebate which they can use for their next purchase. That encourages buyers to keep shopping on the site.

Of course, the Catch 22 is that buyers need items to buy. So BidCents.com is also offering incentives for sellers to start the ball rolling. All listing fees are currently zero and a cash prize is offered for listing items this month.

BidCents.com has most of the better features of online auctions – automatic bidding up to the buyers limit, automatic 30 second extensions of auctions while bidding is active, rating system to keep cheats and fraud away. Sellers get automatic relistings with reduced fees, WYSIWYG HTML description editor, free scheduling, About page, bulk lister, banner exchange, credit and more. An exclusive feature is that part or full payments for sales can happen instantly.

The BidCents site uses US currency and operates on New York time.
